Fostering equitable quality education to marginalized children

The project is envisaged with the primary goal SDGs proposed to be Impacted Goal 3 (Good Health & well-being), Goal 4 (Quality Education), Goal 5 (Gender Equality), Goal 10(Reduced Inequalities)

The project will be implemented in 3 / 4 villages of Fatehpur Sikri city of Agra, Uttar Pradesh Project Duration 24 months Project Budget INR 2.20 Cr

19. Out of the 36 states and Union territories (UTs), Uttar Pradesh is at the bottom of the heap when it comes to education.

The Literacy rate of Fatehpur Sikri is 62.08 % lower than state average of 67.68 %. Male literacy is around 71.59 % while female literacy rate is 51.41 %. To address the issue of learning gap of Fatehpur Sikri location, Hazrat Saleem Chishti Foundation is proposing to facilitate 150 students catering from standard I to X with bridge and remedial education.

The proposed project will facilitate in 1 Educational centre where students will be provided with education facilities. The project will also empower school teachers on digital education or modern teaching methods so that their capacities were build. Additionally, the proposed project will facilitate soft and life skills, equipping the educational center with sports facilities, digital facilities such as laptop, computers, projectors and speakers. The project will also engage in organizing health checkup for the enrolled children. Workshops on computer course for higher students will also initiate in the proposed project. The NGO will collaborate with agencies for certification of computer courses after the completion of the course.

Project Objectives

The proposed project centers on establishing an educational center to provide equitable, high-quality education for 150 children. It aims to create a conducive learning environment while fostering comprehensive development & Re enrollment of out of school children into schools.

Key project activities include:
  1. Baseline Survey and Site Selection: Identify children and establish an Educational Resource Center (ERC) for classes, promoting community engagement.
  2. ERC Upgradation: Enhance the ERC with modern facilities, safety measures, and IT resources to elevate education quality.
  3. Team Recruitment and Capacity Building: Recruit and train teachers using child- centered approaches, innovative teaching methods, and curriculum design.
  4. Assessment: Evaluate students' learning levels via baseline and end-line evaluations, with regular checks to monitor progress.
  5. Commencement of Classes: Conduct daily remedial and bridge courses using engaging teaching aids, adapting subjects to students' needs.
  6. Equipping ERC with Sporting Goods: Supply sports equipment and an instructor to foster physical and social development.
  7. Facilities Enhancement: Establish clean drinking water, integrate technology with laptops and projectors, and set up science lab materials for hands-on learning.
  8. School Teacher Training: Empower teachers with digital education skills for modern teaching techniques.
  9. Holistic Development Sessions: Offer age-specific soft and life skills training to nurture empathy, communication, and problem-solving.
  10. Health Camps: Hold regular health camps to enhance overall well-being and academic performance.
  11. Exposure Visits: Arrange trips for interactive learning and novel experiences.
  12. Scholarship Support: Provide scholarships to exceptional students, encouraging higher education.
  13. Menstrual Hygiene Support: Distribute sanitary pads and educate girls on menstrual hygiene.
  14. Transport Facilities: Ensure regular attendance by providing transportation for students from neighboring villages.
  15. Nutritional Support and Uniforms: Promote health and retention by supplying nutritious meals, school bags, and uniforms.
  16. Computer Courses: Develop tailored computer courses for upper primary and secondary students, offering skill enhancement and certification.
  17. Community Awareness: Sensitize the community through dialogues, educational materials, role models, and committees, fostering educational understanding.

The project aspires to achieve quality education and holistic growth for the chosen children while engaging the community to amplify its impact.
